Christchurch Events This Weekend

Our Airscreens are engineered for all Kiwi conditions up to 45 km/h winds. Light rain? The show goes on — watching rain on your windscreen while warm inside your car is a drive-in classic! In the event of severe weather warnings, your ticket automatically transfers to the backup rain date, or you receive a 100% refund.

We broadcast the movie audio on a dedicated FM radio frequency licensed for the venue. Simply tune your vehicle's FM stereo to the station displayed on screen before the film starts. If you prefer not to use your car radio, high-power on-site PA speakers are active across the grounds and loud enough for everyone outside, or you can bring a small portable battery-powered radio to connect to the channel while relaxing in camping chairs.

Most modern cars can run the radio on accessory mode for 3+ hours without issue. However, our ground crew carry professional battery jump packs at every single event. If you need a jump, just flash your hazard lights and a marshal will assist in under 2 minutes — totally free of charge.

Yes! You are welcome to BYO snacks, blankets, and non-alcoholic drinks. We also host a curated Food Truck Village at every screening serving hot woodfired pizza, craft coffee, gourmet burgers, and real movie popcorn. Firefly is strictly an alcohol-free and smoke/vape-free event.

Parking is first-come, first-served within vehicle height categories. Standard sedans and hatchbacks are positioned in the front rows, while SUVs, 4WDs, and utes are marshalled to the mid and rear rows so everyone has an unobstructed view of the 10-metre screen.
